FAQs

What makes Frevini floors different?

Our floors aren’t mass-produced; they’re purpose-built. Made in Europe, each board is engineered for genuine longevity, giving New Zealanders a product that stays beautiful for years to come.

We start with premium water-boiled birch ply, the benchmark in engineered timber and finish with techniques that create true, natural character. Every component is chosen with intent, resulting in a floor designed to stand out.

Where is your timber sourced from?

We use FSC-certified European oak, selected from trusted mills across the region. It’s stable, clean, and ideal for engineered flooring.

What’s the difference between your NZ Reserve Collection and other options?

Our New Zealand Reserve Collection is our flagship range, available here in finishes and colours selected to complement New Zealand architecture and landscapes.

For projects that require a tailored finish, we offer a broader suite of customisable options to meet specific design requirements.

Do you offer custom finishes or sizes?

As we are the manufacturer, we can unlock a broader palette of colours, smoking treatments, textures and profiles when timelines allow.

Connect with us early so we can shape a solution directly from the production floor.

What board sizes do you offer?

The New Zealand Reserve Collection features 200mm and 250mm wide boards, supplied only as full-length boards, never shorts or nested lengths. This ensures a consistent, uninterrupted look that elevates any interior. Every board is constructed on premium water–boil-proof birch plywood, chosen for its strength, stability, and long-term performance.

For projects with specific design ambitions, we can manufacture a broader selection of sizes and profiles to match the intent of the space.

What finishes are available?

We finish every board in-house using two distinct systems, each chosen for its performance and aesthetic qualities.

Moderno UV-cured oil offers a natural, matte feel that can be refreshed as the floor ages, while Basica UV lacquer provides a refined low-sheen look with exceptional durability and minimal upkeep.

Together, they offer genuine variety.

Can I get pricing?

Absolutely. Share your plans or approximate square meterage and we’ll provide clear, transparent pricing for your chosen products.

We can also supply indicative installation rates from our preferred contractors, ensuring you have a full picture of the project costs.

Do you provide samples?

We offer a curated sample service, delivered straight to your door. Samples are an essential part of the process, they help move projects from concept to reality.

We provide a range of sized samples, giving you a clear, tactile understanding of how each finish will look and feel in your space.

Do you install the flooring?

Installation is a crucial part of delivering a premium floor. All quotes include an accurate indicative installation price from our trusted contractors nationwide, giving you a clear understanding of the full project cost. We remain closely involved with installers throughout the process to support a seamless, well-executed installation.

Can you supply the installation materials too?

We can provide the full system needed for the installation – moisture barriers, adhesives, trowels, and all the other details that are easy to overlook but make all the difference. We’re always happy to talk shop and help you or your builder get set up right from the start.

How do I care for my Frevini floor?

You’ll receive care instructions tailored to the finish you select. If you ever need advice down the track on maintenance, surface refreshes, or minor repairs, we’re here whenever you need us.

Great timber floors can last a lifetime when given the right care.

What are your lead times?

Lead times vary depending on whether your selection comes from our New Zealand Reserve Collection or is crafted specifically for your project.

The New Zealand Reserve Collection is stocked locally and readily available for projects with shorter timelines. For custom-produced or bespoke products, lead times are generally 20–22 weeks from order confirmation through to delivery. Our team will confirm availability when quoting your project.

Can your flooring be used with underfloor heating?

Our flooring is fully compatible with underfloor heating. With a variety of UFH systems available in New Zealand, correct preparation and commissioning are essential to achieve optimal performance from both the floor and the system. To make this straightforward, we’ve developed a comprehensive guide covering all common UFH types.
